Food Ladder: how to play
Learn how to open Food Ladder, arrange foods on desktop or mobile, and complete five untimed rounds.
What is Food Ladder?
Food Ladder is an educational food-comparison game with five untimed rounds. In each round, arrange four foods from lowest to highest for the nutrient shown: calories, protein, fiber, or sodium. Every comparison uses an equal 100 g amount.
Open the game
Open the Activity Hub on your Learn It Live site and select Food Ladder when it appears. The activity is available only on sites or programs where it is enabled. If it is missing or a direct /food-ladder link shows Not Found, check that you are using your usual program site and contact support if you expected access.
Play a round
- Select Start the ladder, or Continue the ladder when offered.
- Read the round prompt and the food names and preparation details.
- Arrange all four cards from lowest to highest. On desktop, drag a card into place. On a touch screen, press briefly, then drag. You can also use the Move earlier and Move later controls.
- Select Check Order when you are ready. Values remain hidden until your order is accepted.
- Review your submitted order, the correct order, nutrient values, pair score, and takeaway. Foods marked Equal value can appear in either order.
- Select Next Round. After the fifth round, select View Summary to review your results.
After your session
Select Play Again to begin another session. If a sharing option appears, you can share a limited result summary; it does not share the round answers. Sharing availability depends on your program.
