Can I use Zoom as a classroom in Learn It Live? Yes. Every instructor can either connect a Zoom account for managed delivery or paste an external Zoom meeting link into a class session.

Use an external Zoom link when you already created the meeting in Zoom and do not want Learn It Live to create or manage the Zoom meeting for you.

  1. Create the meeting in Zoom first and copy the Zoom join URL.
  2. In the class editor, add or edit a live session and choose Paste an external Zoom link in the Classroom section.
  3. Paste the Zoom join URL into the Zoom meeting URL field. If the class has multiple sessions, add the correct Zoom link to each session that should use Zoom.

How this differs from connecting Zoom

With an external Zoom link, Zoom meeting settings, host controls, capacity, license limits, recurring meeting setup, and recording management stay in your Zoom account. All instructors can instead choose Use my connected Zoom account when they want Learn It Live to create and manage the meeting.

Recordings for external Zoom links

External Zoom link recordings are a manual upload workflow. After class, get the recording from Zoom. If it was recorded to Zoom cloud, download the MP4 from Zoom. Then edit the class in Learn It Live, edit the session, and upload the video recording to that session.

If you want automatic recording import

Connected Zoom can import eligible cloud recordings automatically. That workflow requires the connected Zoom account that hosted the meeting and a Zoom cloud recording. Local Zoom recordings are never imported automatically.
