To create a class, you must have an instructor account.

From your Learn It Live account, go to:

My Classes → Create Content → Create a Class

You will be asked to choose between two setup options:

  • Quick Setup — A faster way to publish a class using the essential fields.
  • Full Setup — The complete class editor, including AI tools, resources, SEO settings, pricing controls, advanced scheduling, and classroom settings.

You can switch from Quick Setup to the full editor at any time.

1. Add Your Class Details

In the Presentation section, add the information learners will see when browsing your class.

Complete the following fields:

  • Cover image
  • Class title
  • Category and subcategory
  • Class description
  • Tags

When using Full Setup, you can create a class description with AI or write your own description.

Choose a clear cover image that represents the class. The recommended image size is 2400 × 1800 pixels or larger, in JPG or PNG format. Keep the main subject centered so the image displays well on desktop, mobile, and class cards.

2. Configure Video, Language, Participation, and Access

In the Video, language, participation, and access section, you can:

  • Add an introductory video or trailer
  • Select the class language
  • Set the maximum number of participants
  • Choose whether the class is public or private
  • Set discussion-board access

The introductory video appears on the class page and can help learners understand what to expect before registering.

For the discussion board, you can choose whether it is:

  • Open to registered learners
  • Limited to instructor post.

3. Review the SEO Search Preview

The Search copy and preview section controls how the class may appear in search results.

You can edit:

  • Meta title
  • Meta description
  • Search preview text

The system may use your class title and description to create suggested SEO copy. Review this information and update it so it accurately describes the class.

You can also lock the SEO copy after making your changes.

4. Add Resources

In the Resources section, you can provide supporting materials for learners.

Resources may include:

  • PDFs
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Handouts
  • External links

Enter a resource title, upload a file or paste a link, and select Add resource.

5. Create Your Sessions

In the Sessions section, choose whether you are creating a:

  • Live session
  • Recorded session

Creating sessions requires an eligible Learn It Live site membership.

For a live session, enter:

  • Session duration
  • Date
  • Time
  • Time zone

The session title will use the class title by default, but you can customize it.

Choose a Classroom Option

You can host the session using:

  • Learn It Live Classroom
  • A connected Zoom account
  • An external Zoom meeting link

The connected Zoom account option may not be available for all accounts. You can always paste an external Zoom link when needed.

After completing the session details, select Add session.

6. Create a Repeating Schedule

For classes that meet more than once, you can use Generate a repeating schedule from your first live session.

This allows you to create multiple sessions based on the date and time of your first session rather than entering every session separately.

Review the generated dates carefully before publishing.

7. Configure Advanced Classroom Settings

When using the Learn It Live Classroom, you can open Learn It Live Advanced Class Settings.

Available controls may include:

  • Record participant or student webcams
  • Automatically lock participant webcams
  • Automatically lock participant microphones
  • Disable private chat
  • Disable public chat
  • Disable shared notes
  • Hide participant names

These settings apply to the default classroom experience for each live session. Use them when you need more control over learner participation, privacy, or communication.

8. Choose Pricing

In the Pricing & Publish step, choose how learners will access the class.

Your class can be:

  • Free
  • Paid
  • Donation-based

For donation-based classes, you can add:

  • A suggested donation amount
  • A link with more information
  • A description of donation benefits
  • Preset donation amounts
  • A custom donation option

For paid classes, you can set the class price and add discount codes when available.

9. Choose Publishing and Notification Settings

Before publishing, decide whether to:

  • Publish the class immediately
  • Schedule the class to publish later
  • Notify learners when the class goes live

Review the class title, details, schedule, pricing, and access settings before selecting Publish class.

You can also select Save draft if the class is not ready to publish.
