Connect Zoom from your instructor account when you want Learn It Live to create and update the Zoom meeting for a live class session. Managed Zoom is available to all authenticated Learn It Live instructors, including instructor and organization-instructor accounts; it is not tied to an email allowlist.
A Zoom Basic account can create managed meetings. Automatic cloud-recording import additionally requires a Zoom plan and account configuration that supports cloud recording.
- Start from the class editor and add or edit a live session.
- Choose Use my connected Zoom account in the Classroom section.
- If Zoom is not connected, select Connect Zoom. If the wrong Zoom account is connected, use Disconnect or Reconnect Zoom before saving the session.
Review Zoom meeting settings
Open Zoom Advanced Class Settings to review the options Learn It Live sends to Zoom when it creates or updates the meeting.
- Set Waiting Room, join-before-host, mute, camera, and audio settings for the Zoom meeting.
- Use Auto-record to Zoom cloud only if you want Zoom to start the cloud recording automatically.
Cloud recording is required for automatic import
Automatic recording import requires the connected Zoom account that hosted the meeting and a Zoom cloud recording. You can start and stop the cloud recording manually in Zoom during the live session, or use the auto-record setting above if you want Zoom to start recording automatically. Local Zoom recordings stay on your computer and are not imported automatically.
After Zoom finishes processing the cloud recording, Learn It Live matches the recording to the class session, imports the MP4, and makes the session recording available through the normal class recording experience. Processing can take a little time after the live session ends.
Disconnect or reconnect Zoom
Disconnecting Zoom removes Learn It Live's stored Zoom authorization and stops future managed meeting updates and automatic recording imports. It does not delete existing Zoom meetings, Learn It Live classes, saved session join details, or recordings already imported into Learn It Live. Reconnect if Zoom reports missing permissions or you need to authorize a different Zoom account.
