The Penny George Institute for Health and Healing has created a tobacco intervention training program to help clinical staff members develop effective tobacco cessation tools and strategies for assisting patients in their tobacco cessation efforts. Participants will learn how to change the “Do you smoke? You should just quit” mindset by learning: coaching techniques to facilitate more open and useful conversations, application of integrative therapies, insights into nicotine addiction behaviors, pharmacology and its applications. In addition, they will learn how to help patients develop strategies for tobacco cessation, and how to advance
conversations as patients develop readiness to quit. Participants receive 6.6 CEU's upon completion of requirements.
